Introducing the speakers

Nicola Lees runs a mid-career mentoring scheme for Women in Film & Television. Twenty women in creative, technical and business roles benefit from six months of mentoring from a senior industry figure, group mentoring and a range of workshops and seminars. Nicola also runs several mentoring schemes for new entrants to TV and film, and mentors ex-offenders through the Koestler Trust.

 

 

A pioneer of external delivery of PE within primary schools; John Bishop has delivered innovative Physical Education programmes in over 1,000 primary schools in England and Wales.  John is a qualified teacher (QTLS), a school governor and a Fellow of the RSA.His career has focused on improving children’s lives by designing and implementing innovative solutions within education, active leisure and learning.  John worked in conjunction with Awarding Bodies and Sector Skills Councils to raise the profile of vocational qualifications including Activity Leadership and has developed bespoke qualifications for Evolve’s Health Mentors.

 

Jonathan Pfahl is a Rockstar – literally! The Founder and Managing Director of the Rockstar Group of Companies spent his evenings rocking it out with his band whilst spending his days in a US investment bank.

Jonathan (or JP as he prefers to be called) set up the Rockstar Group in 2007. Since then he has grown it into the largest resource bank of business services for growing companies in the UK. It is also an active investment firm with a portfolio of over 40 companies privately invested in.

The Rockstar group owns its own regulated crowd fund, a hedge fund, an international mentoring app, a sales outsourcing firm, digital marketing co, It’s own bespoke CRM platform, an app development co, it’s own law firm, a VIP concierge and events company and its own Foundation. These services are all available to all clients who require help and used ofcourse to run the businesses that Rockstar invest in.

Leading behaviour expert, Richard Daniel Curtis  began delivering training courses to Learning Mentors in primary schools.  Over time it became clear that there was a wider need for training for mentors.  He set up The Mentoring School and their community, the International Mentor Network in order to help further mentoring as a profession by setting standards for mentor training.

 

 

Jacqui Hogan has wide experience in mentoring and leading teams of all shapes and sizes throughout her 30 year career, and until last year, managed the UK-wide WES (Women’s Engineering Society) MentorSET mentoring programme.  She has worked in Information Technology, as a ‘techie’, project manager and senior manager, for a variety of different organisations including a number of engineering design companies: from missiles to cars and oil rigs. She is qualified in both Technology (MBCS, CITP) and Business (MBA, FCMI).  Since 2003, Jacqui has run her own management consultancy specialising in mentoring business leaders and senior teams to greater success through better business management, project management and people management.

Jacqui has facilitated workshops and spoken on management and mentoring topics for over 15 years. As an active member of the public speaking organisation Toastmasters International, she currently holds the highest award of Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM).
Jacqui has written 5 management related books and is working on numbers 6 and 7 currently. Both are on the topic ‘how to train your Mentor’ and will be available later this year.
